Hi Cathy, wow, you’re certainly right on time. We’ve had a glitch with the online registration site. I’ll take a look at it in the morning and, hopefully, it will clear up tomorrow. Thanks for getting in there early and we look forward to seeing you in the SRITRI this year. Thanks again, Charles

Might not be a bad idea to put the date of the race somewhere on the website. Haha. I couldn’t find the date anywhere.

Gary, the date of the race is posted several places on the website (schedule, registration, etc.). BUT, you are correct – it should be very visible on the Home page and apparent at first glance. Thanks for your comment!! CG

Surprised I have not seen any post on here yet about the oil spill and any alternate plans for the swim portion of the tri. If or when the oil hits SR Beaches, will there be an alternate place for the swim course? Will you cancel the race altogether? I would like to register, but unsure at this point. Thank you!

Thanks for the comment. We’ve been following the oil gusher daily since the beginning of this disaster. Every time we thought one of BP’s “strategies” would work, it failed. Right now Santa Rosa Island must have angels watching over it as there seems to be relatively few traces of oil anywhere. There have been tarballs and blobs in some spots that have been gathered up – we’ve been lucky. I have been in both the Gulf of Mexico and Santa Rosa Sound recently and the water is fine. Our alternate swim course is Santa Rosa Sound on the North side of the island and it’s very swimmable. I’ll have more comments as time goes on and we assess the situation in the middle of the summer.
